HISTORY
Origins
The Esdec Solar Group was founded as Esdec in 2004 by two Dutch solar installers who recognized the need for high-quality rooftop mounting hardware. Over the next 10 years, Esdec developed their hardware with their ClickFit residential racking system followed by the commercial & industrial FlatFix ballasted system. Throughout the decade, Esdec grew to one of the largest installers in the Netherlands.
In 2015 Stijn Vos was named as CEO and Esdec expanded for the first time out of the Netherlands to other European countries, including Germany, France, and Belgium.
Expansion
In 2018, the Esdec Solar Group was formed with Gilde Buy Out acquiring a majority stake in the company. This paved the way for further expansion across Europe to Spain, Portugal, and Scandinavian countries. The company entered the North American market for the first time with the acquisition of EcoFasten. In 2019, Esdec Solar Group purchased leading North American companies IronRidge and Quick Mount PV, and then continued to solidify itself as a market leader with the acquisition of leading commercial and industrial providers PanelClaw and Solar Construct in 2020.
In 2020, Esdec Solar Group also entered the fast-growing Asian market by re-engineering their popular European systems. Leading the company’s Asian expansion is Esdec India, now operating PAN India. In 2021 Esdec Solar Group acquired Netherlands based rooftop racking systems manufacturer Solar Stell, and in 2022 Solar Construct merged with Solar Stell to form Blubase.
On December 1st of 2022 Blackstone and Rivean Capital (formerly Gilde) acquired Esdec Solar Group. The company has continued to grow with the acquisition of Valencia, Spain based Sunfer Energy in January of 2023.

Today, the Esdec Solar Group is the world’s largest provider of rooftop solar mounting hardware. Solar installers have depended on us to secure more than 7.5 Gigawatts of solar per year on residential, commercial, and industrial roofs. Our companies have a combined annual revenue in excess of $700 million and employ more than 400 people worldwide.

Residential
The number of residential rooftop solar systems is set to more than double to 100 million by 2024. Esdec Solar Group companies produce a wide range of residential solar mounting to help secure that growth. Our complete product portfolio includes options for installing onto all types of composition shingle, tile, metal, shake and slate roofs. Commercial & Industrial
Rooftop solar on commercial buildings and industrial facilities is set to take off over the next five years thanks to continuing reductions in costs and legislative efforts that mandate PV integration into new building projects. Esdec Solar Group’s companies are industry leaders in the C&I field–from flat-roof ballasted to modular to matrix. Our companies’ experience includes flat roof installations in more than 35 countries around the world and over 10,000 flat roof projects–from 5kW to 20MW–completed. Our global footprint and supply chain commitments provide the scalability to thrive in the rapidly expanding commercial and industrial rooftop PV space.
